Dae-Young KWON (tenore lirico)

EDMONDO, Manon Lescaut

Born in Seoul, he commenced vocal studies immediately after finishing Junior College in 1996 initially with the baritones Kyo-Young Jin and Kwang-Bin Chung, then with the soprano Young-Ae Mun and finally with the bass Jo-Han Kim until receiving his diploma in 2005. Two out of these years were taken up by serving in the military.

Koni, as he is frequently called by his friends, initially enrolled at Soong-Sil University, later in 2003 changing over to Myoung-Ji University in Seoul. In 2005 he relocated to Germany for further studies working with the tenors Ki-Chun Park (Stuttgart) and David Kim (Frankfurt).
