Ha-Youn JU (flute)

AUGSBURG: Mozartiade 2008

„ .. Ha-Youn’s Flötenspiel bestach über ausgeprägten Klangsinn – als schiene sie nicht zu atmen – und hoher Sensibilität“

Private Album: Munich Airport

Born 1981 in Seoul of parents who are both painters, Ha-Youn started to learn to play the piano at the age of five. One of her cousins, Ji-In Yang, is presently studying violin at Juliard. When Ha-Youn was ten her parents moved to Japan to perfect their own artistic skills.

This is when Ha-Youn first took to the flute. It was love at first sight. After her piano teacher suggested to have her hands operated on to increase the span of her fingers, Ha-Youn decided to make the flute her first instrument and the piano her hobby instrument.

After visiting Sun-Hwa Junior College for Arts she enrolled 2000 at Chung-Ang University in Seoul studying flute. In 2004 she enrolled at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater in Munich studying with Prof. Andras Adorjan.
