Isis Concert Group is an association of gifted graduates of music colleges,
exceptionally talented junior students, as well as well established artists. It is the vibrant
dialogue between the very young and the masters that provides for excellent synergy.
Furthering of young talent. ICG endeavours to locate singular talents at music colleges
internationally, and in support of arranging for scholarships and attendance of master classes
given by esteemed teachers. Presently our focal point of recruiting lies in East Asia,
where society is exceptionally supportive of classic musical education.
Music management. The most delicate time in the life of a young musician is probably the
time when leaving college. For a vocalist excellent grades do not necessarily guarantee success
on stage. In part stage directors are obviously looking for experience, in part the teacher who
had also been counsellor during college is usually no longer available. Also, effective and
professional dealings with music agencies is not part of the curriculum at most music colleges
oftentimes leading to job loss. As a consequence the young artist looses self-confidence and
possibly even self-esteem.
Concerts. A special aspect of our concerts lies in the fact that ICG can present ensembles
as well as solos from a wide selection of contributing artists. Concerts outside of Germany
have been on the rise lately, whereby sponsoring is generally local. Special dedication is with
the ensemble, be it vocal or instrumental.
Availability of quality violins. As with November 2008 our master class students have the
possibility of playing on a “Tamayo” violin charge free for special events.
For 2009 it is planned to also provide a “Tamayo” cello. These handcrafted
instruments made from aged German wood can also be rented and purchased depending on their availability.
