Summary

Isis Concert Group is an association of gifted graduates of music colleges, exceptionally talented junior students, as well as well established artists. It is the vibrant dialogue between the very young and the masters that provides for excellent synergy.

Furthering of young talent. ICG endeavours to locate singular talents at music colleges internationally, and in support of arranging for scholarships and attendance of master classes given by esteemed teachers. Presently our focal point of recruiting lies in East Asia, where society is exceptionally supportive of classic musical education.

Music management. The most delicate time in the life of a young musician is probably the time when leaving college. For a vocalist excellent grades do not necessarily guarantee success on stage. In part stage directors are obviously looking for experience, in part the teacher who had also been counsellor during college is usually no longer available. Also, effective and professional dealings with music agencies is not part of the curriculum at most music colleges oftentimes leading to job loss. As a consequence the young artist looses self-confidence and possibly even self-esteem.

Concerts. A special aspect of our concerts lies in the fact that ICG can present ensembles as well as solos from a wide selection of contributing artists. Concerts outside of Germany have been on the rise lately, whereby sponsoring is generally local. Special dedication is with the ensemble, be it vocal or instrumental.

Availability of quality violins. As with November 2008 our master class students have the possibility of playing on a “Tamayo” violin charge free for special events. For 2009 it is planned to also provide a “Tamayo” cello. These handcrafted instruments made from aged German wood can also be rented and purchased depending on their availability.

Opera Workshop

In 2005 ICG organised under the patronage of the "Musikschule Hofheim" and with participation of the Chamber Choir Hofheim their first opera workshop with Il Turco in Italia by Gioacchino Rossini in an unabridged concertante production. Because of the multitude of different ensembles this opera presented a unique opportunity to practice what had been a primary goal from the onset.

The public response at the unique success of "Turco" came immediately with the press praising
" .. there is no need to always visit opera houses in the nearby cities to hear good operatic music - but the local population has yet to catch up on this truth"
Only a few months later the title role singer was awarded an employment job as a soloist by the opera house Graz in Austria.

Chamber Music

Chamber music involvement started 2006 with The London Piano Trio to perform at the invitation of the local government in Hofheim am Taunus with works of Brahms, Mendelssohn-Bartholdy and the British composer Cecil Armstrong Gibbs.

In 2007 ICG for the first time put together their own Piano Trio with Jeany Park (violin), Katrin Sofia Heyland (cello) and Christian Strauss (piano).
